Bringing scalable edge AI to the next generation of video platforms

The agreement integrates CEVA's advanced Neupro-Nano and Neupro-M Neural Processing Units (NPUs) into Ali's Next Generation Video Display Subsystem (VDSS) platform. This collaboration combines Ali's expertise from Multimedia SOC with CEVA's AI technology to enable smart edge devices to deliver high-performance audio, video, vision, sensing and AI processing applications, including intelligent smart displays, set-top boxes, and a wide range of visual computing devices.

Neupro-Nano embedded AI NPUs are always on audio, voice, vision and sensing use cases, dedicated for ultra-low power applications. Native support for trans models allows small language models (SLM) and other new AI workloads to run efficiently at the edge.

Complementing this, the Neupro-M NPU IP offers scalable performance with 4-200 TOPS/COREs, supporting advanced AI models such as transformers, vision transformers (VITs), and generation AI.

By integrating both NPUs into Ali's VDSS platform, Ali's ASIC Design Service customers now have access to a more flexible, energy-efficient AI acceleration solution optimized for deep learning inference across a wide range of smart edge applications.

The agreement leverages Ali's design expertise and a global customer base and combines it with CEVA's AI software development tools, including the Neupro-Studio AI SDK. Companies aim to simplify AI SOC development and accelerate time to markets for ODM, OEM and semiconductor partners.
