There are other jobs in the AI era, with Box paying salaries up to $183,000.
Cloud content management company is hiring an “AI Business Automation Engineer” to integrate AI agents across Box.
According to Box’s job listing, the role involves working across departments like finance, legal and human resources to find ways to re-engineer processes with an “AI-first mindset.”
“This isn’t a side project or something you can just do on nights and weekends,” Box CEO Aaron Levy told the X Post late Sunday. “We need to design and develop robust agents to be used in mission-critical workflows.”
While there are concerns that AI will destroy jobs, there are also increasing examples of technology creating new roles. Last week, Stripe posted an opening for a “Forward Deployable AI Accelerator,” a role that helps financial technology companies’ marketing teams implement AI.
The “forward deployment” model was popularized by Palantir, where employees are integrated into a company or team to integrate new technology.
As senior agents move from coding to the rest of the knowledge work, it takes a tremendous amount of work and know-how to do it right.

Box also takes inspiration from this model. Levie said in the X post that the role of AI Business Automation Engineer is “a highly technical job, very similar to a forward deployment engineer in an internal function.”
The job posting states that the US-based role is within the IT department but is cross-functional. An IT or software engineering role requires 2-3 years of engineering experience and pays between $146,500 and $183,000.
Other jobs that have emerged in the AI era include “prompt engineer” and “data annotator.”
“This is just one example of how AI will start to play a role in the future,” Levie said of his company’s new role. “I think most companies will implement this in some form going forward.”
