On Wednesday, July 2nd, China's technology giant Jakarta Baidu Inc launched an AI-based video generator aimed at business circles. Additionally, they also made major search engine updates.
The video generator model is named MuseSteamer and allows you to turn images into videos of up to 10 seconds. Musesteamer comes in three versions: Turbo, Pro and Light. Each meets different business needs.
Over the past year, various major global technology companies and major AI players such as Openai have expanded their reach from chatbots to text or image-based video generators. In China itself, companies like Bytedance, Tencent and Alibaba have also launched similar AI models.
Unlike rival products such as Openai's Sora, which is intended for consumers through a subscription system, MuseSteamer is currently only available to business users, and Baidu has not released an app version for general consumers.
In addition to launching MuseSteamer, Baidu has also announced major search engine updates. This update includes a new search box design that can receive longer queries and support audio and image-based searches. Search content is more oriented and personalized thanks to Baidu's AI technology support.
Baidu has taken this step amid growing competitive pressure from other AI-based chatbots in China that are increasingly popular with local users, such as Bytedance's Doubao and Tencent's Yuanbao.
