Guwahati: While accusing the BJP of “spreading Venom” through video on social media, Congress on Wednesday called on the election commission to be aware of it.
Congress spokesman Supriya Shrine had mentioned a 36-second artificial intelligence-generated video that the state's BJP unit shared on social media platform X, Scroll reported.
The video entitled “Assam without BJP” shows a series of visuals that appear to suggest that if the Saffron Party loses power, the state will be overrun by minority communities.
Images generated by AI showed that Rahul Gandhi and Assam Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi had raised the Pakistani flag.
It also carried the image of a butcher with “legalisation of beef” and “legalisation of beef” before it ended with the “Muslim population” labeled “legislation of beef.”
Chasing the video, Supriya Shrine asked Chief Election Committee member Gyanesh Kumar, “The BJP is spreading poison in this way,” adding, “As usual, will we be able to accept this and remain a Mute audience?”
Assam Congress leader Bedabrata Bora called the video and said the party would file a complaint with the police against the BJP.
All India's Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi accused the BJP of being a terrifying fuss and said that the vote alone is not the case.
Asaddin Owaisi, the president of all Indian Majlis e Ittehadur Muslims, who respond to the video, said the BJP was a fear presence and added “this is a true form of repulsive Hinduva ideology.”
Owaisi also stated, “The very existence of Muslims in India is a problem for them, and their dream is Mukt Bharat, a Muslim. In addition to this constant whining, they have no vision of India.”
However, Assam BJP spokesman Rupam Goswami came out in support of the video saying, “If you see demographic changes in Assam in 14 districts, there are some surprising circumstances.”
Goswami was quoted from the Indian Express as follows: “The threat comes from not Muslims, but from illegal immigrant Muslims. We must be aware of that. They are becoming stronger economically, hurting us socially, and will take away our political rights.”
