Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more prominent in the health sector, optimizing workflows, increasing efficiency, enabling a move to proactive care, and reducing costs. We co-organize a five-day training workshop to explore the transformative role of AI in the healthcare ecosystem to promote knowledge of the multifaceted issues of Healthcare, ADBI, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF), and the Japan Agency for International Cooperation (JICA).
However, there are many considerations to adopt AI. The first one relates to ensuring that your data is secured and that your consumer privacy is protected. The other is ensuring data transparency and integrity while increasing the impact of AI. Building a skilled workforce is also important. Having people willing to adopt new technologies and develop AI expertise is important as it can drive the transformation process.
To integrate AI into health systems, governments need to address three key areas: infrastructure, governance and funding. This includes ensuring robust digital connectivity and providing important physical assets such as computers, medical devices and data centers. Furthermore, AI is vulnerable to violations and fraud because it uses personal data. More stringent rules and data security for information sharing are essential.
The event brings together health professionals, engineers, policymakers and innovators to dig into the latest advances in AI, applications, funding, and ethical considerations in health. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how AI is reshaping healthcare delivery, diagnosis and public health.
the purpose
- Exchange knowledge and insights. It will facilitate the exchange of information about new intersections between AI and health, including public health monitoring and diagnosis, personalized telemedicine, and health care management.
- Build a community of practice across healthcare professionals. A multi-stakeholder network of government officials, international policymakers, private sector practitioners and academic experts will be brought together to discuss the implications of AI across the health sector, policy sector, disciplinary boundaries and levels of governance.
- Notify policymakers about the diversity of AI applications in healthcare. Through five days of interactive roundtable and site visits, participants are invited to explore the AI of healthcare, the applications of underlying systems, the interaction of digitalization and funding and ethical and equity considerations, and the approaches of specific and diverse countries.
- Strengthen the evidence base for policy making. Stimulate discussions on existing good practices and transferable lessons from 16 countries that have adopted a governance framework to manage AI across Asia and the Pacific, and policy-related challenges and opportunities related to AI adoption.

- Elderly staff responsible for health emergency response (including care for the elderly)
- Private sector and academia practitioners working on AI integration in healthcare
output
- Four-day in-person workshops and one-day site visits to see the contributions of Japan's private sector through the development of innovative equipment and technology (such as mobile hospitals)
- Knowledge about AI use in healthcare and knowledge about promoting broad AI use in the healthcare industry between government officials and experts at DMCS.
