A recent survey by Lucidworks found that business leaders have concerns about generative AI in a variety of areas, including data security, cost, accuracy and transparency.
The report is based on data from a survey conducted among more than 2,500 business leaders globally in April and May 2024.
Around 46% of respondents were concerned about generative AI’s data security, 43% about the cost of implementation, 36% about the accuracy of responses, and 35% about the transparency of decision-making.
Business leaders are much more likely to be concerned about generative AI across sectors in 2024 than they are in 2023.
According to business leaders, only 25% of planned generative AI investments have been fully implemented to date; only one in eight planned revenue and growth initiatives have been implemented, and only one in six planned operational cost reduction initiatives.
The researchers found that AI investment plans vary significantly by industry: For example, nearly 70% of financial services leaders say they plan to increase their AI investment in the next 12 months, while only 42% of real estate leaders say the same.
