Artificial Intelligence (AI) replaces 94,000 jobs in high-tech companies in the US

Since the beginning of 2025, major US technology companies have continued to cut their workforce significantly.

Official statistics show that the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technology has resulted in over 94,000 professionals being lost in employment.

Experts say the process is particularly prominent in the programming, data analytics, customer service and even the creative industry. Many companies are trying to cut down on talent and provide services faster and cheaper with the help of generative artificial intelligence tools.

For example, some IT giants have switched to advanced technologies such as ChatGpt, Gemini, and Copilot to automate coding, document preparation and customer communication. As a result, tasks that were once performed by teams are being performed by AI in a matter of minutes.

Companies are also considering such changes as a way to improve production efficiency, stay competitive, and reduce costs. However, this trend has been criticized by workers and trade unions. Unions fear that automation will increase social inequality and lead to unemployment for unskilled workers.

Economists believe this process will continue. As artificial intelligence technology improves, many traditional positions in the labour market may lose their relevance. At the same time, new opportunities are being created for professionals who can work with new technologies.

International organizations such as the UN and the World Bank are calling on governments and businesses to take proactive steps to retrain and reskill the workforce.
