The Asia-Pacific region is the most disaster-prone region in the world. The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific predicts that under a 2°C warming scenario, losses from climate change disasters could reach nearly US$1 trillion a year, or 3 percent of regional GDP. Green technologies are gaining traction across the region, but they are not expanding as fast as the threat.

Google DeepMind AI for the Earth

The first AI for the Planet accelerator from Google’s AI research division, Google DeepMind, hopes to fill that gap. We will select 10 to 15 startup companies, research teams, and non-profit organizations based in the Asia-Pacific region that are applying frontier AI to environmental challenges.

This is a three-month program offered to select organizations.

  • Access to the Google AI stack, including specialized frontier models
  • Dedicated guidance from the Google team and AI experts
  • 1 week of in-person bootcamp and 3 months of virtual support
  • Potential cloud credits and free Cloud TPU
  • Demo day to introduce solutions to investors and industry partners
  • Google Accelerator Alumni network of over 2,000 startups and nonprofits

Apply if your project focuses on nature, climate, agriculture, sustainability, or energy, and you are particularly interested in AI-enabled nature conservation, sustainable agriculture, or forest protection.

Applicants need an early validated functional prototype or minimal working product, an in-house technical team with deep expertise in AI and machine learning, and a solution where AI is at the core.

You should also demonstrate clear potential to integrate Google AI models such as Gemini, Gemma, AlphaEarth, Forestry, and Perch. At least two or three key leaders, including the founder and chief executive officer (CxO), should be actively involved.

Apply now! Deadline is July 26, 2026
