Apple redesigns Siri with AI and glowing borders

Speaker 1: Right away, you'll notice that Siri has been updated. Let me show you. As you talk to Siri, you'll notice that with this elegant light that surrounds the edge of the screen, Siri is even more deeply integrated into your system experience. And with richer language understanding, you can talk to Siri more naturally. Even when I'm at a loss for words, Siri understands what I'm trying to say. What's the weather going to be like tomorrow at Meir Beach? Oh, wait, it was going to be like Meir Woods. Speaker 2: [00:00:30] The weather forecast says it will be sunny in the morning near Muir Woods. Speaker 1: Sometimes it takes me a while to remember what I want to ask Siri, but now she answers right away. And because Siri knows the context of the conversation, I can follow up and say, “Create an event for a hike there tomorrow at 9am.” Speaker 2: The hike is scheduled for June 11th from 9am to 11am. Speaker 1: You didn't have to mention Muir Woods again. [00:01:00] Siri understood what I said. There are times when you don't want to talk to Siri out loud. What's great is that you always have the option to type to Siri by just double tapping the bottom of the screen. You can quickly and silently ask Siri to set an alarm. Speaker 1: You can switch between text and voice communication in a way that's appropriate for the moment. And it's a foundation for the brand. [00:01:30] One of the new ways Siri can help is with its extensive product knowledge. Siri holds a huge amount of information about features and settings, and can answer thousands of questions when you want to know how to do something on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Even if you don't know the exact name of the feature, just describe it and Siri will find the information you're looking for, like: How do I write and deliver a message right now? [00:02:00] What about tomorrow? Siri knows the features I'm referring to and will walk you step-by-step through how to use the new Send Later feature in Messages. All of these features are available from the moment you start using Apple Intelligence. Over the next year, we'll be rolling out even more features to make Siri even more personal and capable. Speaker 1: Imagine you're at the airport picking up your mom and you're trying to time it. Siri can help you with this very easily. Siri, [00:02:30] When is my mom's plane landing? It's awesome that Siri matches the flight details she emailed me with real-time flight tracking to give me the latest arrival time. What about lunch? I tend to forget to add events to my calendar, so it's nice to have Siri manage events that I make in casual conversation, like the lunch reservation my mom mentioned in a text. How long will it take to get there from the airport? No more jumping from Mail to Messages to Maps. [00:03:00] Understanding this plan and sequence of tasks took me just seconds, and honestly would have required a phone call to my mom. This is just one example of how Siri will continue to become more powerful and personal. Thank you, Apple Intelligence.
