Singapore-based Aolani and Rafay are collaborating to deploy NVIDIA DSX OS on NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 infrastructure, marking a strategic move to transform raw artificial intelligence (AI) hardware into a comprehensive platform for development and operations. The initiative aims to provide customers with more than the power of graphics processing units (GPUs) and instead focuses on a unified, managed, self-service environment for AI workloads.
Operationalize AI infrastructure
The project combines Aolani’s AI infrastructure with Rafay’s software for orchestration, automation, multi-tenancy, and lifecycle management. This reflects a shift in the market where buyers are increasingly demanding managed, shared, self-service AI environments without the need for extensive manual setup. The companies said users can provision Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines (VMs), AI workspaces, and inference environments through a self-service model complemented by central governance and policy enforcement.
Addressing implementation challenges
Nicholas Chia, CEO of Aolani, highlighted speed of deployment and governance as central issues for customers leveraging advanced AI systems. He pointed out that building the next generation of AI clouds requires solving not only computing power, but also production-grade platforms that can be operationally ready from day one. The companies said their approach aims to reduce the burden of integration by providing easy access to AI environments on the underlying infrastructure.
Migration to industry platforms
Haseeb Budhani, CEO and co-founder of Rafay Systems, suggested that the AI infrastructure market is moving beyond simple hardware deployment. He emphasized the need to transform infrastructure into a managed, self-service platform that developers can use and operators can manage at scale. Rafay’s role in this project includes simplifying infrastructure stand-up and automating lifecycle management, giving developers immediate access to a production-ready AI environment while maintaining governance control for operators.
focus on utilization
The platform is designed to support model development, training, inference, and future delivery of AI services. Founded in 2023, Aolani focuses on AI cloud infrastructure in Asia, and Rafay is part of NVIDIA Inception, a program for startups. This deployment shows how infrastructure providers can improve the utilization of AI systems by making them easier to consume and manage.
