According to a Thursday announcement emailed to PYMNTS, the model is built around three outcomes that Anthropic believes are important for enterprise use: finding information, analyzing it, and producing finished output. Claude Opus 4.6 executes these steps end-to-end and aims to produce documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with fewer revisions on the first try and near-production-quality output.
According to the announcement, the release also includes a series of technical and workflow-focused updates aimed at supporting deeper integration of AI into business processes.
Long context and collaboration features
Claude Opus 4.6 is the first Opus model to support a 1 million token context window and is available in beta through the company’s developer platform. The longer context window is intended to allow the model to work with larger document collections, internal data, or broader codebases within a single task, the statement said.

Anthropic also introduced a feature called Agent Teams. According to the announcement, multiple AI agents will be able to work on different parts of a task in parallel rather than sequentially, and each agent will be able to coordinate directly with the others. This feature will be available in research preview for API users and subscription customers.
