Among C-suite executives, AI is the top digital priority on the road to operational resilience, according to Accenture research.

NEW YORK; May 2, 2023 – Nearly three-quarters (73%) of businesses are prioritizing AI over all other digital investments, according to an Accenture (NYSE:ACN) survey, breaking precedent. The immediate focus is on improving operational resilience in a non-existent environment.

The “Reinventing Enterprise Operations” report found that 90% of business leaders are applying AI to address aspects of operational resilience. This ranges from data-driven capabilities such as finance (89%) and suppliers (88%) to experimenting with generative AI.

The findings evaluated organizations on six operational maturity scales: AI, data, process, people, collaboration, and stakeholder experience. Only a minority (9%) of companies achieved maturity in all dimensions, but those that achieved maturity averaged 1.4x higher operating margins than their peers and 42% more innovation. accelerated, improved sustainability by 34%, and increased satisfaction scores by 30%.
