AI Video & Visuals

A recent internet hot topic is a deepfake video featuring Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt. The AI-generated video has gone viral online, raising alarm among fans about the potential risks associated with deepfake technology. The video in question depicts a “Get ready with me” (GRWM) scene.

For those who don't know, “Get Ready with Me” (GRWM) is a popular trend where individuals show off their “getting ready” routines before attending a particular event.

Alia Bhatt's new deepfake video goes viral

The video was posted on Instagram by user Sameeksha Avtr and has garnered over 17 million views to date. “All videos are created using AI for entertainment purposes only,” the user wrote in her Instagram profile. In the video, a deepfake of Alia Bhatt is seen getting ready in a black kurta. Throughout the video, she can be seen applying makeup and posing for the camera.

Fans express concern over this deepfake video

However, Alia Bhatt's fans have raised concerns about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) after a deepfake video went viral.

One fan commented, “I thought it was Aria but when I looked closely it wasn't Aria,” while another commented, “AI is getting more dangerous every day.” A third commented, “Everyone, rest assured, it's an AI generated image.” Another fan commented, “This is the first time I've seen Aria's face,” while another user commented, “I really hope there's an agreement to use AI that uses real human faces.”

This is not the first time that Alia Bhatt's deepfake video has gone viral. In May this year, another video in which Alia's face was transformed onto actress Wamiqa Gabi's body went viral online.

Rashmika Mandanna deepfake video incident

Recently, deepfake cases have affected many actors, including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol, Katrina Kaif, and Aamir Khan. Last year, Delhi Police arrested four suspects for circulating a deepfake video featuring Rashmika Mandanna. The video showed a woman named Zara Patel entering an elevator, with her face digitally altered to resemble Mandanna.
