Fans react to deepfake video

Upon closer inspection, fans realized the video wasn't real. Comments flooded in, with one fan saying, “I thought it was Alia but after looking closer it wasn't Alia.” Another user expressed concern, saying, “AI is very dangerous,” while a third commented, “What the heck? Musk was right. AI is really winning everything.” The sentiment is clear: deepfakes are unsettling and pose serious risks.

Other celebrity deepfake cases

This is not the first time Alia Bhatt has been the target of deepfake technology: earlier this year, another video was leaked in which her face was superimposed onto the body of actress Wamiqa Gabi, which also sparked huge discussion and concern online.

On May 7, Alia Bhatt dazzled at the Met Gala in a stunning Sabyasachi sari. This appearance was followed by another deepfake video that showed her in a red sari during a photoshoot. The video was shared by an Instagram account called Unifixface and was later confirmed to be a deepfake by India Today. In this video, Alia's face is also digitally superimposed onto Wamiqa Gabi's body.

Meanwhile, deepfake videos are becoming easier and more convincing to create. Concerns are growing among fans and celebrities about the impact of these realistic yet false representations. The recent case of Alia Bhatt highlights the need for awareness and regulation to prevent the misuse of such powerful technology.
