Oscar-nominated Irish director Ruairi Robinson on Tuesday shared an AI-generated video on social media featuring portraits of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt engaging in an elaborate fistfight on a Los Angeles overpass.
“This was a two-line prompt for Seadance 2,” Robinson wrote in the caption of the 15-second clip, which has racked up more than 1.4 million views to date.
Seedance 2.0 is a new AI service by ByteDance, a Chinese company that also owns TikTok.

Robinson also posted a follow-up video featuring the AI version. interview with vampire The co-stars are fighting in a similar location, this time with dialogue.

SAG-AFTRA, the union representing approximately 170,000 actors and entertainers around the world, shared a statement with EW condemning ByteDance and accusing the company of widespread copyright infringement.
“SAG-AFTRA stands with the studio in condemning the blatant copyright infringement enabled by Bytedance’s new AI video model Seedance 2.0,” the group said. “Violations include the unauthorized use of members’ voices and likenesses. This is unacceptable and undermines the ability of human talent to earn a living. Seadance 2.0 ignores the fundamental principles of law, ethics, industry standards, and consent. Responsible AI development requires accountability, and that is absent here.”

Reese later clarified her reaction to the video in another post. “I’m not at all excited about AI invading creative activities,” he wrote. “On the contrary, I am terrified. So many people I love are facing the loss of their beloved careers. I myself am at risk. When I wrote ‘It’s over,’ I didn’t mean to sound more arrogant or flippant.”
The screenwriter added that he was “shocked” by the video of the two AI actors fighting. Because it’s “very professional” and real. “That’s exactly why I’m scared,” he said. “My half-empty view is that Hollywood is undergoing a revolution and is about to go down. If you really think the Pitt vs. Cruise video is memorable and awful, you have nothing to worry about. But I’m upset.”
