Adobe announced Monday that it is working on generative AI video capabilities for its Firefly suite, adding new apps to its Premiere Pro video editing platform. Newly added features also include third-party integrations with OpenAI's Sora model and other AI video generation companies such as Pika Labs and Runway, allowing Premiere Pro users to generate videos and provide text prompts. You can also use it to add or edit objects or extend video clips.
The company hasn't set a release date for these tools, saying only that the features will be rolled out “later this year.” It's also unclear whether Premiere Pro will integrate other AI models. In a video preview shown, Adobe calls these third-party deals an “early exploration” of what the “future” will look like.
In a statement, Adobe also said it will introduce Content Credentials, metadata to identify AI-generated media, to Premiere Pro to address the dangers of deepfakes. Adobe already used content credentials in Photoshop and some of its Adobe Firefly tools. In the future, we will not only specify which content was generated by AI, but also which AI model was used to generate it.
a bloomberg Last week, it was reported that Adobe is paying up to $120 to photographers and artists who provide short video clips to train video generation models on its stock media platform, Adobe Stock. Compensation ranges from $2.62 per minute of video to approximately $7.62 per minute depending on your submission, increasing if the footage is of high quality.

The editing software giant also released a new AI-powered assistant called Acrobat AI to help users summarize and search documents. The tool is available on desktop, web, and mobile versions of the app, with add-on subscription rates starting at $4.99 per month.
The assistant is integrated into Reader and Acrobat workflows, allowing users to “gain insights from any type of digital document, and quickly and easily format and share content.” The chatbot also works with other document formats such as Word and PowerPoint, and can even transcribe meetings.
As part of the release, Adobe is also releasing a free mobile version of the tool that responds to voice commands in beta and bringing the app to Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browser extensions.
