Udaipur, February 19, 2026 – Political tensions are rising in the city following allegations that a woman leader made an AI-generated video to blackmail a lawyer and extort money illegally. On Wednesday (February 18), Congressional officials staged a protest questioning police actions and demanding a fair investigation.
Congress district president Fateh Singh Rathore alleged that the lawyer was detained over a sum of Rs 1.1 million and irregularities including seizure of pen drives and other devices at his house. He argued that the way the act was carried out called into question the role of the police.
Additionally, Congressional leaders claimed that efforts were being made to protect other potential suspects involved in the incident instead of prosecuting them. The party called for a transparent inspection of the confiscated digital devices and a fair investigation of the entire incident.
Many members of Congress participated in the protest. The party warned that incitement would escalate further if a fair investigation was not conducted.
