AI helps people know their date of death and could soon become a virtual doctor for many people. But progress is unlikely to end there. Dating apps could soon be the next frontier in AI, and in the future, the technology could even be used to meet girls for you.
Modern people are tired of trying to survive in the world of online dating, where meeting hundreds of people is boring but inevitable. In fact, AI could help people avoid this big step and date and match them with their perfect partner. Bumble is one of the leading dating apps, and one of the few that focuses on women and their girlfriends' interests.
The Bumble founder talked about the scope of AI in dating and how it can change concepts that may be appealing to some but strange to others. Whitney Wolfe Herd, who just stepped down as Bumble's CEO, spoke at a tech event about the future of dating and how AI will factor into the equation.
AI may even allow people to share their feelings and thoughts without feeling judged. “In the near future, you may be able to talk to an AI dating concierge to share your insecurities and get productive tips for communicating with other people,” she says.
If you think this is an interesting look at the role of AI in the future of dating, be sure to listen to what Hurd has to say next. “There's a world where your dating concierge can date other dating concierges for you, so you don't have to talk to 600 people,” she reportedly said.
What she means is that an AI agent will go on a date for you, and the other person will also use AI to make the date happen for you. These AI features not only help the company expand its monetization model, but also help bring more people on board with these useful tools.
Will these people relying on AI be able to find the right match or partner? Only time will tell. However, his sci-fi shows like Dark Mirror are perfectly in line with the future we're heading towards, and what apps like Bumble are envisioning with AI is truly fascinating. You'll find it both scary and frightening at the same time.
