Nexon Co., one of South Korea’s leading online gaming groups, has officially launched and opened the registration portal for the Nexon Young Programmers Cup (NYPC) 2026 competition. This is a ground-breaking strategic programming playground thanks to the support of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Launched in 2016, NYPC has long been an iconic tournament in programming and has shaped the Nexon brand. The competition, which begins this year, marks a powerful shift in format from traditional algorithms to generative AI application strategy programming. Here, contestants leverage the power of AI directly to build tactics, solve challenges, and dramatically face off. This year’s playground offers comprehensive support for 12 popular programming languages, including C, C++, Python, and Java.
In particular, NYPC 2026 also marks a historic milestone as it officially transitions into a global tournament, and it is an honor for Vietnam to be selected as the first international destination. Vietnam’s young talents will directly compete in the Master Track Qualifier, an arena specially designed for university students. Each team takes part in a breathtaking battle between AI agents. The ability to anticipate the situation, react flexibly, and neutralize the opponent’s tactics is paramount.
The journey to conquer the NYPC 2026 title will take you through two stages: an online qualifying round and a live final round. The qualifying round will be held from June 29th to July 8th, and contestants can actively solve the questions at any time within the stipulated time. The top delegates who pass this round will be given a golden ticket to advance directly to the final round in South Korea. All expenses, including round-trip airfare, accommodation services, and related travel expenses, will be covered in full by the organizer. In addition, tournament winners will receive valuable cash prizes and a special opportunity to participate in Nexon Group’s exciting hands-on internship program.
To bring the tournament closer to the country’s technology community, Nexon will work closely with Nexon Dev Vina (NDVN), a subsidiary specializing in group development in Vietnam. The organizers will carry out extensive promotional activities at major technical universities and will continuously update all information, regulations and registration procedures through the official media channels of Facebook and Zalo.
Nexon Chairman Kim Jong-wook asserted, “NYPC’s 10-year journey is tied to our mission to lay the foundation and raise the level of programming education in Korea. Stepping into a new chapter, we look forward to spreading this inspiration to young people passionate about technology around the world. We hope that NYPC 2026 will be an ideal starting point, bringing breakthrough challenges and success experiences to future developers in the AI era.”
The NYPC 2026 registration portal has officially opened on the program website. Once an account has been created and registered, contestants can immediately access the system to test and practice their skills using sample math problems provided by the organizer.
