Richard Quainoo, Data Analytics Consultant at Deloitte Ghana, gave a compelling presentation on Prompt Engineering at the recent AI Skills Fest, highlighting the growing importance of communicating effectively with artificial intelligence systems in today’s digital economy.
In a session titled “Prompting Like a Pro,” Kuainu broke down the concept of prompt engineering into simple, practical steps and demonstrated how individuals can significantly improve the quality of AI-generated output.
He introduced the Task, Context, Reference, Evaluate, and Iterate (TCREI) framework as a structured approach to creating effective prompts.
According to him, the difference between poor and exceptional AI output is often not the tool itself, but the way the instructions are given.
He explained that vague prompts, lack of context, and unstructured requests often lead to inaccurate or unusable results, while clear and detailed prompts maximize the potential of AI systems.
He also highlighted important messages that resonated strongly with attendees. What once required complex coding can now be accomplished with well-written prompts. Referring to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s statement that English will be the programming language of the future, Kuainu pointed out that this future is no longer far away, but is already unfolding in the present.
Kuainu went on to outline the practical benefits of mastering prompt engineering, including increased efficiency, higher quality deliverables, higher return on AI investment, and increased competitiveness in the job market.
Beyond the technical aspects, we also mentioned risks associated with generative AI, such as hallucinations, bias, and data privacy concerns. He urged participants to adopt responsible AI practices by validating output, protecting sensitive information, and maintaining human oversight in all AI-assisted processes.

“Although AI is a powerful tool, it is not infallible. The onus remains on the user to ensure accuracy and ethical use,” he said.
The event also featured other prominent speakers, including sessions on AI for data analysis, vibecoding, and building applications using modern AI platforms, providing attendees with a comprehensive perspective on current trends and opportunities in the AI space.
Quaynoux concluded his presentation by encouraging attendees to move beyond casual use of AI tools and adopt a more structured and iterative prompting approach. He emphasized that those who develop strong prompting skills will not only be able to leverage AI more effectively, but also position themselves as leaders in an increasingly AI-driven world.
