A former SpaceX engineer believes civilian security is ripe for destruction.

“There are a lot of similarities to what SpaceX did in the aerospace industry,” Guard Owl co-founder and CEO Narek Kajikian told Business Insider.

Kamikian, Edrees Tabibzada, and Sam Abelyan teamed up to found Guard Owl, a security management platform aimed at bringing agent AI to the private security industry.

Guard Owl recently closed a $3 million seed round led by Tower Research Capital. The company lists Aldi, Alexander Wang and real estate company Greystar as current customers.

The startup offers features such as real-time GPS tracking to help clients ensure security guards are alert and on duty. By the end of the year, we hope to automate 50% of our clients’ back-office workflows, including payroll, billing, and compliance.

In the long term, the trio wants to add seamless integration with surveillance cameras and an Uber-like feature where security guards can find local jobs and evaluate their performance.

Overall, Kajikian believes there is an untapped market.

“Palantir belongs to the FBI and CIA, right? It’s their technology for American intelligence,” Kajikian said. “Anduril is for defense to protect America from foreign invaders. I think Guard Owl will become America’s security system in the future.”
