AI or real? Ranbir Kapoor Ramayana video goes viral, sparking debate over VFX, authenticity

AI Video & Visuals

actor ranbir kapoor ramayana A leaked scene from the movie has become a hot topic on the internet. The clip has sparked a debate over its VFX and authenticity, with social media users divided over whether it’s real footage, AI-generated content, or CinemaCon video.

The video, which has been widely shared on fan pages, shows Ranbir, dressed in the avatar of Lord Ram, pointing a bow and arrow at the mystical creature and then unleashing an attack that ends with a huge explosion.

After the clip went viral online, several social media accounts claimed it was recorded during a recent fan showcase or promotional event held ahead of the film’s release. However, these claims remain unverified.

The video has since divided social media, with one section convinced it is a genuine leak and another denying it is an AI-generated creation. Some users suggested that this visual may have come from footage shown at CinemaCon, rather than the movie itself.

Reacting to the viral clip, one user commented, “The whole scene is leaked!! Post it and enjoy…this scene is also from CinemaCon (sic).”

Another person wrote, “This is an AI companion and if it’s a real scene, this is bad for Ramayan (sic).”

Another user wondered about the visuals and said, “In which version of Ramayan did Lord Ram fight Marvel’s Alios (sic)?”

One social media user defended the film, writing, “So I can’t believe how they could be so stupid to post a leaked video and think dneg wouldn’t send a copyright strike? This is another AI generated fake clip to spread negativity (sic)!”

“Look at the videos that are out there! The last 10 seconds are in 480p quality, edited and posted at the same ratio. And some credible pages will post it as CinemaCon. Standard (sic),” one person added.

Several others echoed this sentiment, with one commenting, “No, it’s AI.” Another simply wrote, “No!! Fake love, fake love (sic).”

The discussions come months before the film’s release, and expectations continue to mount for the epic adaptation directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film is scheduled to release during Diwali 2026.

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol in important roles. The makers have so far only released the official first look of Ranbir as Lord Ram and more characters are expected to be revealed closer to the film’s theatrical release.
