Artificial intelligence used to help students write college essays isn’t cheating, and those who don’t take advantage of the technology will be at a disadvantage, the former tutor says.
Students who don’t use artificial intelligence in their schooling and college application processes will be at a disadvantage, an AI founder told Fox Business.
“AI in education is as inevitable as the internet and search engines, but people were skeptical about this at first, too,” says former tutor and creator of generative AI tool ES.AI for college applications. said Julia Dixon. “Students who never use AI or any resources that really allow them to take the work they do to the next level are going to be at a disadvantage,” she said.
“The sooner students can get up to speed with this technology, the better they will be in other educational and professional fields,” she continued.

It has been proven that artificial intelligence can write not only e-mails, essays and epitaphs, but also poems, songs and film scripts. Early technologies make writing easier, so students who use generative AI to write essays or do homework have been criticized as scammers.
“Now, when I go to the library, I see almost everyone using ChatGPT,” a college student told Fox News in April. Teachers, meanwhile, say AI in the classroom can be both a threat and a benefit to student outcomes.

Dixon told Fox Business that “using AI to help with college applications is not cheating as long as you use ethical tools and ethical practices.” “Do not submit AI-generated work as a final product.”
Using AI to brainstorm ideas, outline essays, and edit student writing is similar to using a human tutor, the founders said.

“I think any teacher or counselor would even approve and encourage the use of such tutoring if it was available to their students,” Dixon continued. “AI can think in the same way.”
In April, the tech entrepreneur told Fox News that the development of AI would help America’s “broken” education system. New York City public schools, for example, banned ChatGPT in January before changing their policy in May.

Dixon said he hopes products like ES.AI will help improve student access to tutoring and educational resources.
She told Fox Business that students need to know how to make AI “work for them” so that it doesn’t “take their place.”
“Students who haven’t learned how to use it” [AI] “If you don’t use it properly, it’s generally going to be a disadvantage,” she continued, adding, “So no, it’s not cheating.”
