AI is everywhere in Photoshop. These are the best tools I've found while editing photos

Applications of AI

Photoshop is packed with new tools with generator AI. I've spent a lot of time reviewing AI Image Generators and other AI creative software, but I've learned that not all AI tools are built equally. So I knew I had to take Photoshop AI and take spins and take a look at how it stacked up.

Technological tips

AI may not be appropriate for each Photoshop project, especially if you are a professional creator who uses the program regularly. There are some great tools to help you with creative workflows, but you'll need to spend time learning about your options.

When you first use any of these AI tools, Adobe agrees to the terms and conditions of the AI service. According to the policy, Adobe does not train AI models with content and must agree to follow guidelines that prohibit the creation of abusive or illegal content.

These are some of the test tips from my experience using Photoshop AI, in addition to the tools you should start with. Access AI tools for Photoshop files on the web and desktop apps. Thanks to the new mobile app, you can also edit it on your iPhone and Android phone.

How to create AI images using Photoshop

Adobe's AI image model Firefly is available as a separate app and is embedded in Photoshop, making it the easiest to use. If you have already created it in Photoshop, here is how to access Firefly:

  1. Open the Photoshop project. If you are using the latest version of PS, the context taskbar should include the option to say Generate an image.
  2. Go to editclick Generate image. You can also click on the image-like icon with arrows and glow on the toolbar on the left.
  3. Enter the prompt, specify the style, and upload the reference image.
  4. click Generate.
  5. Use the arrows on the taskbar below to use various variations:

Don't be afraid to add many details when writing the prompt. Put the most important elements first. Check out our AI Image Prompt Writing Guide for more tips for better results. If you don't like the image, you can adjust the prompt and reference image by clicking on the Image pop-out window or the four square icons. You can tap on the three vertical dots at the edge of the pinbar to provide generation feedback, remove backgrounds, and generate similar images. If you still don't like what you have, I recommend trying to get it right and start over with a new prompt instead of trying to generate endlessly tweaking and doing so.

How to use the generation feature in Photoshop

You can also use the Generate AI tool to edit an existing project in Photoshop. Generation filling, deployment and removal are some of the most popular AI tools. Here's how to use each:

Generated fill It's like a miniaturized AI image generator. It is one of the most popular AI tools in Photoshop. Generated filling creates a new design for a specific area in your project when you select a specific area and enter a text prompt. You can find the generated fill by going to Edit > Generation Fill. Use the Selection Brush tool. Mark the area where you want to display the element, enter the prompt, and[生成]Click.

Generation extension This is useful if you need more space in your image. You can create a new section of the image to seamlessly blend it with the current image, or enter a text prompt to create a new view. It can also be used to scale your project. To access the Generation Extension, select the Crop tool, pull out the canvas to any size as needed, and enter the prompt if necessary[生成]Click.

Generate and delete It's like an AI-SuperCharged Eraser. This tool separates and removes certain elements from the project without confusing the entire image. There are two ways to delete objects from your work. The first is to select an object using the Select Object tool, and[生成塗りつぶし]to click and place the word “delete” at the prompt. Otherwise, you can manually highlight the object you want to erase using the Delete tool (Spot Healing Tool > Delete Tool).

Other AI tools you can try in Photoshop

Replacement of the sky A cool AI tool that allows you to add drama to your landscapes. You can create alternative skyscrapers by navigating to edit and choosing from a variety of options, including sunsets labeled “Spectacular”, blue sky, and colorful options. Once you have selected your favorite preset, you can manually adjust the brightness and other elements.

In this example, I used an AI Sky replacement to add some Carolina Blue Sky (right) to my original shot of Kenan Stadium (left).

Generate background Suitable for product photos and other shots where the subject or object is the focus of the image. Upload the shot to Photoshop, remove the background from the context taskbar (the pinbox that pops up when you select a layer), and[背景を生成]Click. Some of the backgrounds are better than others. The urban space I generated looked kind of fake, but it came out with a large colored or patterned background.

Depending on your project, there are some AI tools that are perfect for you. Neural Filter Can be used for more detailed photo editing. Curvature pen It can help designers create a more consistent arc. We also hope to see more AI-powered editing tools introduced in Photoshop this year.

Overall, Photoshop's AI suite worked well. Some tools have been helpful, but you need to know which tools are designed to be used to get the best results. For example, the Generation Extension was suitable for resizing photos, so we found the best Generation Elimination to erase photobombing objects. Other tools like Sky's replacement tools worked in some photos, but not in the others. I don't use Photoshop AI for every project, but I think that might be a good option.
