An artist who used an AI generator to create a photo of several politicians cheating on their partners claims he did so to raise awareness about the potential dangers of technology.
PetaPixel reported that video editor and political satirist Justin T. Brown used Midjourney to implicate politicians like Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump in their affairs. Banned from Midjourney for creating images that He said it took about an hour to create each photo.
He intended a viral series known as “AI will revolutionize the intimidation industry” To exemplify how AI can be used to hurt people if it falls into the wrong hands. “To show the real potential threat of AI, the project itself has to be a threat, and in my opinion there is no safer target than the powers in Washington,” said Brown. It was intended to shoot over the
Brown was banned two days after sharing the photo on the Midjourney subreddit, and the image was removed even though it could never be said to be true.
“I don’t want to be banned, but at least it might mean that users have some degree of responsibility when they maliciously generate harmful content,” Brown said. “But it got banned a few months after the first image was created, so by the time the harmful content was generated, wouldn’t it be too late?”
The images prove the dangers of AI, and Brown agreed that regulation was necessary, but also raised the question of who would decide. He said there needs to be an “international conversation” about AI because of its ability to spread misinformation.
“In a better world, I would welcome AI. But in the world we live in, it can have devastating effects. I think,” Brown said.
