Anthropic, the maker of Claude, one of the most popular artificial intelligence models on the market, has begun moving toward an initial public offering.
company announced The company announced Monday that it has “confidentially filed” a draft registration statement, known as a Form S-1, with the Securities and Exchange Commission for its proposed IPO.
“This gives us the option to go public after completing SEC review,” the company said in a statement. “The proposed initial public offering is subject to market conditions and other factors.”
Anthropic said the number of shares and price have not yet been set.

The filing sets the stage for three possible mega-public listings by technology companies. Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which is involved in rockets and AI, filed financial information for an IPO in late May. OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, also widely reported The company is planning to go public.
“We believe this represents the opening of the floodgates in the IPO market, which has been relatively dormant in recent years, with these three largest conglomerates planning to go public later this year, but with a race to enter the public markets in the coming months,” Wedbush Securities analysts said in a note after Anthropic’s announcement.
