Among other things, a well-known company specializing in artificial intelligence has announced that AI has identified Martin Zvimendi and Orkun Kokçu as the best candidates to replace the outgoing Sergio Busquets.
Busquets has announced his intention to leave FC Barcelona at the end of this season, and Zbimendi (Real Sociedad) has long been rumored as a candidate to replace him.
Kokchu, on the other hand, does not appear to be in the attention of Barcelona.
Olocip’s AI only considered retaining midfielders under the age of 25 who had played at least 80 games and 1000 minutes in their career.
Zvimendi is most similar to Busquets, rated as 86% similar by the AI.
The top five players most similar to Busquets are, in order, Zvimendi, Declan Rice (West Ham), Ibrahim Sangale (PSV Eindhoven), Edson Alvarez (Ajax) and Kokchu (Feyenoord).
However, while Kokchu was not rated as similar as the outgoing legend, he was rated as the most likely to succeed at Barcelona. They believe his ability to create plays makes him a good fit for Barcelona’s passing game, despite defensive improvements that need to be made.
Rice is said to be the best defensive player, but he leaves a little unsatisfactory on the offensive side.
