AI and machine learning specialist Travis Nixon joins newly created role at Dollar General — Retail Technology Innovation Hub

Dollar General announced the appointment of Travis Nixon to the newly created position of senior vice president of artificial intelligence (AI) optimization.

Mr. Nixon will lead the retailer’s business process management efforts, applying AI to identify and drive chain-wide optimization opportunities in areas such as merchandising, supply chain and store operations.

I look forward to accelerating and expanding our existing efforts to drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, and customer-centric innovation by strengthening our strategic integration of AI.”

Mr. Nixon comes to Dollar General with more than 10 years of experience in AI and machine learning, most recently as head of AI for Dropbox’s security division. He previously served as Head of Measurement and Understanding at Meta and Chief Data Scientist for Financial Services at Microsoft.

Mr. Nixon has also served on SynerAI’s board of directors since 2020, where he shapes the company’s AI strategy for stock market insights.
