Announced just over a month ago, Adobe's Firefly video editor is now ready to be released as a full beta option available to current Adobe subscribers to try it out and get a feel for what appears to be the company's future bet on AI-driven video editing workflows.
The platform is uniquely positioned to allow filmmakers, editors, AI creators, and more to create content using a variety of generative AI models, and offers unlimited generation in a short period of time for people to try it out.
Adobe is also adding some new tools and features to Firefly in general. These are also worth considering.
Beta release of Adobe Firefly video editor
The most notable news here is that Firefly Video Editor, Adobe's browser-based video editor that promises to turn Firefly generations into finished stories, is now widely available in public beta. Although distinctly different from Premiere (or Premiere Mobile), the Firefly video editor allows users to work in the following styles:
- Edit in the timeline if you want precise control over pacing, cuts, and layers.
- If you want to manipulate the speaker or interview content, edit it in text. You can trim or rearrange segments by simply editing the text within the transcript.
Users can export videos in the format they need for their content, including options from vertical social posts to widescreen editing.

Other camera controls and models
The other big news here is that Adobe is rolling out new editing prompts features and other additional camera motion controls for the AI generation.
Edit prompts utilize Runway's Aleph mod,el, which allows for specific editing instructions. Users will now have more control over how the camera moves within the scene with new camera motion control options.
Adobe also announced a new partnership with Topaz Astra, available on Firefly Boards, to allow users to push footage to 1080p or 4K. This is intended to enhance low-resolution clips as a way to make them sharp enough for YouTube feeds and other places.

Unlimited generations until January 15th
In line with this new push for Firefly and the Firefly video editor in particular, Adobe is expanding its Firefly Pro, Firefly Premium, 7,000 Credits, and 50,000 Credits offerings for customers. plan to obtain Until January 15, 2026, you can generate unlimited images and videos with the Adobe Firefly app.
