JobAdder has launched Adder Intelligence, a new artificial intelligence capability designed to simplify recruitment for HR and talent teams in New Zealand.
AI works in the background, analyzing historical candidate data within existing applicant tracking systems and proactively identifying high-potential candidates for open roles. Early adopters report faster hiring and improved both quality and diversity of final candidates.
Background automation
Adder Intelligence works without prompts or manual intervention. Review years of candidate history stored in your recruiting system and automatically suggest suitable candidates, even those who haven’t reapplied for a role. This approach aims to address the challenges faced by recruiters who struggle to process high volumes of job applications with limited resources.
AI tracks candidates’ evolving skills and experience to help match them with more accurate and up-to-date job openings. Recruiters experimenting with the tool note that it helps them identify experienced talent who might otherwise be overlooked on the initial candidate list.
Recruiter workflow
The initial release includes two key features: Smart Summary and Smart Sync. Smart Summary brings together important candidate information into one profile, including past interactions and data related to role requirements. It also provides recommendations on candidate match strength to help recruiters prioritize candidates more efficiently.
Smart Sync automatically maintains and updates candidate profiles by analyzing unstructured data such as recruiter notes and activity logs, filling in information gaps and updating records as needed. These tools integrate without requiring recruiters to change established workflows or input prompts.
industry pressure
The employment landscape in New Zealand and Australia is changing, with recruitment activity softening despite candidate applications reaching historic highs. According to data from JobAdder, the number of applications increased by 42% year over year. Over the same period, recruitment levels fell by 17% in New Zealand and 5.4% in Australia, resulting in more candidates competing for fewer opportunities.
JobAdder’s research also shows that expectations are rising among both customers and job seekers. Approximately 63% of recruiters report that applicants are increasingly demanding greater communication and transparency during the hiring process. Meanwhile, 78% of government agencies are turning to AI specifically to reduce administrative burden, but most current uses are still limited to basic tasks rather than candidate sourcing and matching.
Impact on recruitment
During early trials, recruitment agencies reported that Adder Intelligence reduced time to hire by up to 67%. Users also noted increased candidate visibility, improved candidate list accuracy, and enhanced fairness in the hiring process. Some recruiters noted that by having AI recognize skill advancements and profile changes, they are less likely to miss out on strong candidates due to manual monitoring or time pressure.
“Recruiters don’t have to interact with the tool; Adder Intelligence does the heavy lifting, analysis, learning, and surfacing insights for you, so you can focus on hiring talent, not managing software,” said Martin Herbst, CEO of JobAdder.
Joel Delmaire, Chief Product Officer at JobAdder, said, “We’re entering a new era of AI. This is AI that’s very simple, professional, and really useful. Recruiters don’t have to direct or configure the AI. The intelligence happens behind the scenes to help them make hiring decisions faster and with more confidence.”
“Our mission is to simplify recruiting and empower recruiters to make more human connections,” said Herbst. “Adder Intelligence is our answer. Powerful, simple AI that delivers results from day one. Ultimately, we create a better experience for candidates with faster responses, fairer decisions, and more meaningful relationships.”
