As agent AI capabilities accelerate, research from the Global AI-centric Technology Research and Advisory Enterprise Information Services Group (ISG) (NASDAQ: III) says that organizational and data preparation remains a key barrier to corporate value.
The state of the ISG state AIM market report states that companies must overcome two fundamental constraints on achieving AI value across the enterprise. This is an operating model not designed for data that is not suitable for dynamic decision-making and for decision speeds in AI-driven companies. Organizations need to redesign critical processes, rethink how tasks are performed, and change how they are embedded in data workflows.
“ISG research shows that most companies experiment with generative AI, but only a handful of them see the actual results,” said Ant Drake, host of ISG UK, Ireland, Scandinavian and ISG AI Impact Summit. “Agent AI is not an overlay. It calls for an AI-enabled enterprise that requires leaders to rethink how decisions have been made, how workflows are coordinated, and how data, people and technologies interact to drive intelligent and adaptive outcomes.”
Leaders such as Bupa, Diageo, Shell, MasterCard, CBRE, Reckitt, AI Maturity Index, Natwest, National Grid, Zooplus and Dlapiper participated in the ISG AI Impact Summit on September 10-11 at Park Plaza Victoria in London, discussing organizational and data preparation strategies and learning what they learned from learning the possibilities of business business.
Roddy Barnes, Bupa's Director of Technology Transformation and Strategy, will give a keynote address on the first day of the summit. “How BUPA Uses AI to Accelerate Employee-Driven Innovation” explores how international healthcare companies can use advanced AI tools and flexible, scaled innovation processes to design and code rapid prototypes and achieve their ambitions to become the world's most customer-centric healthcare provider.

The first day concludes with ISG's Startup Challenge, featuring entrepreneurs pitching business innovation to the judges for audience votes. Contestants include Taha Dar, founder and CEO of Search Smartly, who uses real estate real estate search using AI. Sandy Hardikar, CEO and co-founder of Network Science, an AI and Deep Tech Innovation platform that promotes co-creation with Global Enterprises. Eryn Peters, co-creator of the AI Maturity Index, will be offering “AI-First Framework: Keynote from Awareness to Transformation.” Deductions from the New ISG and AI Maturity Index research that discovered obstacles to AI implementation on the second day of the event are often related to the cultural nuances of the market where AI is implemented more than the technology itself.
“Our research using the AI Maturity Index reveals that when employees feel that they have an agency to recruit AI, positive outcomes increase,” Drake said. “Organisations that assess and address cultural expectations regarding autonomy, quality assurance and decision-making processes are consistently superior to those focused solely on technology deployment.”
In the “Innovative Ahead: Creating New AI Opportunities” session, Tewfik Bedreddine, Vice President of Data & Analytics at Reckitt. Lakshmi Varada, Vice President of Engineering, Architecture and Operations at Zooplus, and Ambeshwar Nath, Executive Vice President and Industry Head of Consumer Goods, Retail & Logistics at Infosys, will evaluate partnerships and explore proven methodologies for building organizational structures that allow rapid capitalization to AI-driven market opportunities.
