“AI scares me. AI should scare every actor,” Bachchan said during the session. “AI will revolutionize many things in the creative field, but if not used responsibly, it can be harmful to actors.”
The actor admitted that AI could be very useful behind the scenes, especially in areas such as animation, visual effects, and post-production. “This could significantly reduce the labor hours we spend and reduce our budget,” he said. However, from a creative perspective, Bachchan stressed that AI-generated content lacks the emotional depth that human effort provides. “I’ve seen products generated by AI. They’re great, but they don’t have a soul. Humans have imperfections.”
Bachchan also pointed out that the impact of AI is not just limited to movies. He noted that fields such as medicine and law could also face major disruption. Admitting that the long-term impact of AI remains uncertain, the actor said he is still trying to understand the rapidly evolving technology.
“As far as creative work and movies go, I don’t really think about whether it’s beneficial or not,” he says. “I’m not very familiar with it because I don’t fully understand the AI landscape. I read and learn a lot about AI.”
