Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan filed separate lawsuits against YouTube and its parent company Google in Delhi High Court after being granted protection of their personality and publicity rights. According to a court application reported by Reuters, the Star Couple is seeking damages of $450,000 (about Rs. 4) and is seeking a permanent injunction that will stop YouTube from hosting or monetizing content that misrepresents them or misuses voice, similarities, and images.
AI Training and Content Misuse
The petition also urges the court to instruct Google to implement safeguards to prevent the use of manipulated content to train other artificial intelligence (AI) platforms. As the agency reported, the actors said in their September 6th submission: “This content used to train AI models may increase instances of compromised use. It is first uploaded on YouTube, commonly seen, and then exploited by AI training.“
“Awful” and “Sexually Explicit” AI content
The 1,500-page lawsuit reportedly targeted lesser-known sellers for fraudulent physical goods such as posters, coffee mugs, photos and even fake, signed photos. The document also includes “hundreds of links and screenshots” of what is claimed as a YouTube video showing “bad”, “sexually explicit” or “fictional” AI content.In a report, Reuters said they found a video that reads “Abhishek suddenly kisses a film actress using AI manipulation.” Another video depicted AI Aishwarya And her previous co-stars Salman Khan It appears that they are enjoying their meal together while Abhishek stands behind. The court asks the lawyer to respond
Last month, the Delhi High Court told Google's lawyers to submit a written response. This case is scheduled for the next hearing on January 15th, 2026.
