AAEON has announced a partnership with industrial camera manufacturer The Imaging Source. AAEON’s BOXER-8645AI is compatible with The Imaging Source’s Acuva series of rugged, high-speed GMSL2 IP67 cameras. Together, the companies will build solutions for vision-enabled applications in robotics, agriculture, automotive, and other embedded and industrial vision systems.
Imaging Source’s Acuva series combines Sony and ONSemi CMOS sensors (2.3 MP to 20 MP) to deliver high-resolution, low-latency imaging at frame rates up to 100 FPS. The series features an IP67-rated housing, an integrated M12 S-mount lens, and a coaxial PoC cable with FAKRA connectors up to 15 meters for rugged and flexible deployment. The 6 Gbps GMSL2 interface not only guarantees high-speed, low-latency image transfer, but also the SDK, drivers, and ongoing support provided by The Imaging Source with a 3-year warranty.
“Our partnership with The Imaging Source allows our customers to reduce time to market while benefiting from the long life span offered by the Acuva series for more robust applications,” said Louis Wu, Product Manager at AAEON Technology. “By establishing compatibility with Acuva industrial GMSL2 cameras, our customers will benefit from shorter development cycles, simpler integration, and more reliable AI vision performance in the harshest environments.”
