In the future, the demand for the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning will increase. A recent study by the World Economic Forum (WEF) revealed that India’s job market is expected to grow by 22% over the next five years. And senior roles belong to his AI, Machine Learning, and Data fields. The report identifies AI and machine learning specialists, as well as data analysts and scientists, as key roles to drive industry transformation in India in the future.
And a farmer’s son from Telangana took advantage of emerging technology to land a position with a 100 percent pay increase.
News18 reports that Jalpura Prem Kumar is from the Warangal district of Telangana and belongs to a lower middle-class family. His father is a farmer and his mother is a housewife. As for Kumar, he graduated from his Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology with a BTech degree.
Kumar worked for TCS as a Test Data Engineer for two years. He got this opportunity through his TCS NINJA campus recruiting efforts, but he never had his work history to date. However, he strongly believes that it is very important to improve your skills and learn about new technologies. Coming from a farming background, Kumar wanted to take advantage of the latest technology available and develop equipment that would make the farmer’s work easier. This was the main motivation for him to browse his web and search for resources. Ultimately, Kumar explored various online courses and enrolled in an AI and machine learning course to improve his skills.
He also said the course includes pre-recorded videos and two-hour live sessions over the weekend. A live session was held to answer people’s questions. Each week a new learning module was unlocked and students had to take a test based on the same module.
This course landed him a job at TVS Motors as a data engineer. He got a 100 percent raise.
Regarding the importance and benefits of upskilling through such courses, Mr. Prem said: Enrolling in a course like this will give you an industry perspective and deepen your understanding of the fields of data science and machine learning. This increases your chances of landing a job as a data scientist, data analyst, machine learning engineer, etc., which are typically well-paid. “
