New Delhi: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant shared a funny meme post after India recorded their second win against Bangladesh in the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday. The match was played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and saw India beat Bangladesh Tigers by 50 runs to book a place in the semi-finals. Soon after the match, Pant shared a funny post which included AI avatars of some of India's cricketing stars.
The video featured Indian captain Rohit Sharma, the legendary MS Dhoni and star batsman Virat Kohli among others, dancing to the popular Bollywood number. The meme versions of star cricketers have sent fans into a frenzy and Pant himself couldn't help but post a meme on his official Instagram handle. It is very rare for cricketers to repost or comment on memes but Pant didn't shy away from it and posted a meme which garnered a lot of likes and comments.
Pant posted a screen recording of a fan-made video meme (a first for him, as per his own caption) of him dancing with Kohli and Dhoni flanking him and then Licht joining him in the middle. The three big names were wearing the latest T20I jerseys and danced to the beats of the song “Barso re Megha” from the Bollywood film “Guru”. Pant was delighted with his win and light-heartedly captioned the post, apologizing to the three players who are older than him.

“A nice win. Sorry I have to post this amazing video. Thank you to the person who made this my first screen recording,” Pant wrote in the caption.
India close to semi-final berth
India are one step closer to qualifying for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 after a convincing win over Bangladesh. This was down to an all-round performance from the Indian team, who were batting first against Bangladesh. Hardik Pandya was adjudged man of the match for his 50-run knock and wicket haul. The formidable Indian team remains unbeaten so far in the tournament and shows no signs of stopping. The men in blue will take on Australia in the final of the Super 8 series in St Lucia on Monday.
