AI Basics

According to new RiverSafe research published in AI Unleashed: Navigating Cyber Risks Report, cybersecurity leaders claim AI is the number one cyberthreat to their businesses.

It includes the results of a survey of 250 cybersecurity leaders conducted by Censuswide, an independent pollster. The study reveals plans to improve organizational readiness and cyber posture to address AI-powered threats.

The survey found that 81% of cybersecurity leaders see the risks of artificial intelligence as more of a threat than the benefits it brings, suggesting that more needs to be done to increase confidence in the development of AI.

Just over three-quarters (76%) said they have stopped deploying AI in their business because of the cyber risks it poses. Meanwhile, 14% are not confident in their organization’s ability to protect against AI-powered cyberattacks, and cyber defenses need to evolve to adapt.

Additionally, less than half (45%) of companies say they have systems in place to review security risks posed by their direct suppliers, demonstrating the growing threat within their supply chains posed by emerging AI threats.
