The National Education Policy 2020 recognizes the importance of training experts in cutting-edge fields such as machine learning, AI and extensive data analytics. This aims to increase the employability of young people. The policy also emphasizes the need to increase gross enrollment in higher education.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Future Jobs Report 2023, technology-related roles such as AI and machine learning specialists, data analysts and data scientists are expected to grow by more than 30% by 2028.

In response to demand, and in accordance with the NEP 2020 recommendations, we are offering multiple pathways of entry into our fully online degree programs.
Anyone who has completed Class XII or equivalent and is taking mathematics as a required subject is eligible to apply. Candidates who have registered
JEE Advanced
Direct admission is available (in any year), but those who do not complete an online course will be admitted based on performance.
Degree programs offer multiple graduation options based on the number of credits earned. Learners can choose to receive a certificate, diploma, degree, or honors degree. Optional campus visits also provide students with opportunities to interact with faculty and colleagues.
Programs for students start with coding fundamentals and progress to more specialized subjects such as generative AI, deep learning, computer vision, and data mining. Learning is further enhanced through group projects, real-life case studies and internships. The program also offers industry micro-credentials that recognize previous learning, helping students gain more work-relevant knowledge.
Graduates will have the opportunity to apply for over 400,000 jobs in various fields such as AI Engineering, Data Engineering, ML Engineering, and Data Analytics. IIT Guwahati provides job placement assistance to students and grants them access to Coursera Hiring Solutions, Coursera’s recruitment platform.
