
The University of Wyoming Outreach Office will announce educational programs in Campbell and Fremont counties in July for those interested in learning about artificial insemination (AI) of sheep and goats, followed by breeding days in August. announced.
The classroom portion of the class will take place on Friday, July 14, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Campbell and Fremont County Extension Offices. University of Wisconsin personnel and local experts discuss nutrition, breeding selection, AI protocols, and pregnancy testing.
“It’s fundamental to how you choose females, how you look at genetics, and what the process is like,” said Kim Frye, an educator at Campbell County 4-H. “Come learn and improve your flock.”

There is no participation fee for those who participate in the classroom only. The cost for someone interested in breeding the animals is $75 per head for him, excluding semen. Payment must be submitted on July 14th to participate in the August Breeding Day.
Registered AI technicians will be available during breeding season in Fremont and Campbell counties in August, according to the Extension Service. Participants will be notified once dates and locations have been determined, and lamb births and jokes are scheduled to occur after January 1st.
The AI Days program is funded by the John P. Elbogen Foundation and organized by UW Extension educators Kim Fry and Chance Marshall.
