Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: With the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence in various fields, engineering aspirants are increasingly opting for artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI and ML) courses in Maraswada.
With this in mind, we are also seeing an increase in requests for course initiation from Polytechnic Universities and Polytechnic Universities by submitting proposals to the Directorate General of Technical Education.
Dr. Umesh Nagdev, Co-Director of Technical Education (Chhatrapati-Sambajinagar Region), told this paper that the application of AI and ML is increasing in various fields such as civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, electronic and chemical engineering. said there is.
“The industry needs trained professionals, so more universities want to start this course. Currently, there is one engineering school and five polytechnics offering the course in the region. One degree college and two polytechnics have a capacity of 30 students, and the remaining three schools each have a capacity of 60. All but one university was fully booked. A total of four people are from this district, one each from Jalna and Bede,” he said.
Dr. Sharvari Tamane, Dean of Information and Communication Technology at MGM University, said the aim of the B Tech-AI and ML courses is to develop professionally qualified individuals with technical leadership skills that are immediately effective in multidisciplinary work environments around the world. He said that the goal is to develop competent students. This year, she said, she has doubled the number of students on the course due to demand from students.
“Last year the intake was 30, this year it has doubled to 60. The use of smart technologies such as big data analytics and networked machines is increasing. We need people,” she said.

The city’s government engineering college will launch the course in 2021, followed by other schools in the region. There are currently 6 educational institutions with 270-seat courses.
Nagdev said a total of six more universities have applied for the course. Of these, he has three universities seeking admission for 60 of his, and the rest seeking admission for 30 each.
If permitted, the total number of laboratories and seats in the region would double (12 laboratories, 540 seats).

Major differences between CS/IT/AI courses
The computer science, information technology, and artificial intelligence course syllabus was divided into two parts. The core subjects are the same for all these courses, but there are differences in the electives. AI electives include speech recognition, human-computer interfaces, natural language processing, augmented reality, virtual reality, embedded programming and his IoT, mobile computing, cryptography, and network security.
