Revenio Group Corporation: Expanding Applications for AI-Assisted iCare ILLUME Screening Solution

In addition to diabetic retinopathy, the AI-assisted iCare ILLUME screening has also been extended to screen for age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma. This solution supports early detection of increasingly common eye diseases.

The iCare ILLUME screening solution uses artificial intelligence to instantly detect signs of vision-threatening disease. The solution has received excellent market feedback and will be introduced in spring 2022 to screen for diabetic retinopathy. He can now screen for three common eye diseases: diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

Age-related eye diseases are becoming more common worldwide. iCare ILLUME screening solutions help detect eye disease early, speeding initiation of treatment. The solution is easy to use, highly accurate, and fully automated. The severity of eye disease can be found on the screening report. Screening solutions have been developed to be more flexible regarding the number of ophthalmic images and fields of use. This solution is currently available in 11 languages.

The iCare ILLUME screening solution supports clinical decision-making in ophthalmic disease. Accurate data generated by iCare imaging devices and associated software is at the core of the solution. iCare ILLUME combines artificial intelligence with images captured by the iCare DRSplus Retinal Imaging System for instant screening reports. Patients in need can then be digitally referred for re-examination by an ophthalmologist. This allows for more extensive use of the high-quality images produced by retinal imaging devices to increase the efficiency of the treatment process.

A comprehensive iCare solution includes digital tools to enhance and improve the quality of eye care while enabling diagnosis and treatment of more patients. With digital tools that connect your eye care pathway, you can increase productivity while delivering high quality care at the same time.

Pirjo Korttesto, Business Line Director of Icare Finland, commented: “Ocular diseases associated with an aging population are becoming more common worldwide, requiring innovative solutions to increase the efficiency of eye disease screening and prevent visual impairment. Our software solutions are playing an increasingly important role in the eye care pathway.”
