Miami – As G7 summit leaders prepare to discuss managing artificial intelligence data, developers believe generative AI could reshape education in South Florida.

Former IT guru at Subway and Burger King, Sylvestre has staked his career on generative AI. Her company’s app uses self-help. One of their targets is children who do not have access to tutors. Answer text asking for help writing a paragraph. You can also show students how to solve math equations.
Other well-known programs can do the same. Silvestre said the app also provides important emotional support.
“Imagine going to a test and failing,” she said. “Oh my God, I’m a sucker and you’re talking to[the app]. The app will say, ‘You’re not a sucker.’ It’s like, something people don’t get sometimes because they’re ‘parents are too busy just making ends meet. Open AI sells ChatGPT for $20 a month, which is very affordable. It’s the price. If you hire a tutor or personal coach, it might take you about 15 minutes for $20.”
AI researchers at Miami-Dade College and the University of Miami also feel the risk. UM computer science professor David Chapman said those who aren’t familiar with how to use AI can suffer.
“There is a danger of being left behind,” he said. “From now on, it will become part of our lives and help people work more efficiently.”
According to the developers, this can also lead to trouble. In the absence of international regulations, cross-border data security is on the top of the agenda for leaders at the G7 summit in Hiroshima.
Privacy is also a no-brainer concern for AI chat on apps.
“If people are typing into those models, who owns that conversation?” Chapman asked. “Who has access to that conversation?”
Silvestre said the company’s product mitigates privacy concerns by allowing users to delete their chat history. But they are focused on the future and see no reason to change course.
