To commemorate World Social Communication Day, the Department of Communication and Diplomacy held an international conference on Thursday, May 21st at the Pontifical University Urbaniana.

The theme is “Preserving the human voice and face.” message This underlines the spirit in which organizers have invited prominent figures from academia, institutional representatives, high-tech experts, and journalists to engage in dialogue about artificial intelligence and its impact on the lives of individuals, communities, and nations.

Moments of reflection and dialogue

The event will be held throughout the day on May 21st in the main hall of the Pontifical University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Education and the John XXIII Foundation.

The event is intended to be a moment of reflection and dialogue, responding to the Pope’s exhortation to “cherish the gift of communication as the deepest truth of humanity, and to which all technological innovations should be directed.”

The conference will be opened by Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Bishopric for Communication, and Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Bishopric for Culture and Education.
