Falls Church, Virginia. BAE Systems and Scale AI have signed a strategic relationship agreement to accelerate the development and fielding of agent artificial intelligence capabilities for the Department of the Army’s mission environments and operational platforms, the companies announced in a statement.

The partnership will combine BAE Systems’ defense operations, systems integration and platform efforts with Scale AI’s data and generative artificial intelligence tools, the statement said. The companies plan to incorporate these capabilities into combat vehicle architectures, deterrence programs and future platforms used by the Department of the Army, according to the statement.

BAE Systems says the effort aims to build systems that can support operators in high-stakes environments by processing and adapting information during missions. The company said in a statement that the effort is part of a broader push to bring artificial intelligence tools closer to where military operations are conducted.

The release also cited BAE Systems’ target recognition support capabilities as an example of how artificial intelligence can turn sensing data into a coordinated effect across a distributed force, the statement said. This approach is aimed at supporting faster decision-making and sustaining operations in a competitive environment, the company said.
