Over breakfast with Congressman Tejasvi Surya, the US envoy will highlight Bengaluru’s role in promoting India-US relations, innovation, trade and technology.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gol praised Bengaluru’s vibrant spirit and dynamic environment during his recent visit, calling the city’s energy “unparalleled.”
Soon after arriving in Bangalore, the envoy shared with X a photo of himself enjoying a traditional masala dosa with Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya. In his post, Golu highlighted the city’s unique mix of startups and street food, capturing the vibrant essence of Karnataka’s capital and thanked Surya for hosting him.

Tejasvi Surya said the conference was engaging and meaningful. He said the two met over masala dosa and strong filter coffee at Filter Coffee, where they discussed strengthening the partnership between India and the US. Surya said the conversation focused on trade, technology and innovation, especially in the context of the interim trade agreement that is taking shape between the two countries.

As part of the visit, Surya also introduced the Ambassador to Bangalore’s iconic autorickshaws, popularly known as Namma Autos, which he said was an unforgettable urban experience.

In another post, Surya highlighted Bengaluru’s unique identity, describing it as a city that effortlessly blends tradition and technology, epitomized by its journey from “masala dosa to machine learning.” He emphasized the city’s strategic role in deepening economic, technological and people-to-people ties between the world’s two largest democracies.
Surya pointed out that Bengaluru is home to more than 700 American companies and accounts for nearly 43 percent of India’s total software exports. Additionally, around 40 per cent of India’s Global Capability Centers (GCCs) operate in Bangalore, reinforcing its position as the world’s leading innovation and technology hub.
The visit repositions Bengaluru at the heart of the growing India-US partnership and underscores its importance in shaping future cooperation across trade, technology, and innovation sectors.
