Motorola Solutions introduces role-based AI suite to speed response and reduce administrative burden

CHICAGO — Motorola Solutions assist suitea new portfolio of role-based artificial intelligence tools designed to provide validated, multi-source intelligence to public safety professionals across dispatch and field operations.

According to the companyThe Assist Suite integrates information from multiple data sources, including 911 audio, body-worn and in-car camera footage, radio transcripts, and other recordings, into a unified intelligence thread tailored to specific roles. Motorola Solutions said the goal is to speed emergency response while supporting operational accuracy and reporting consistency.

The announcement comes as Motorola Solutions’ agencies face the dual challenges of a growing influx of audio, video and data, and persistent staffing shortages. The company cited research showing that nearly half of 911 dispatchers’ time is spent verifying information, while police officers may spend up to 40% of their time writing reports instead of working in the community.

Dispatcher Assist Suite is designed to support the early stages of emergency response by streamlining call reception and coordination. Motorola Solutions says the tool provides real-time transcription and translation to address language barriers, highlight important keywords, and summarize calls, so dispatchers can focus on decision-making rather than manual data entry. The suite can also automate the triage of non-emergency calls, which can take up a significant portion of a call handler’s workload, the company said.

For field operations, Responder Assist Suite is designed to give responders a more verified picture of an incident before they arrive, allowing them to address common gaps between information received en route and conditions encountered on scene. Motorola Solutions says the suite supports voice-activated queries for increased situational awareness and can automate tasks such as evidence tagging and video editing to reduce administrative burden.

A key component of this announcement is Narrative Assist, a reporting tool that automates the process of cross-referencing multiple sources of officer account and incident data to support accuracy and consistency.

“Thanks to Motorola Solutions, we are now able to tap into modern policing and have significantly increased the efficiency of our police departments. Using these AI technologies, we can easily save up to 40 hours a week,” said Sgt. Michael Sellner of the White Bear Lake Police Department in Minnesota said. “Narrative Assist reduced report generation time from 1 hour to 15 minutes, and Redaction Assist reduced video editing time from 35 hours to 1 hour. The AI ​​capabilities of Motorola Solutions’ Responder Assist Suite allow officers to stop staring at a screen and get back to proactive policing.”
