Arlo Pro 6 camera delivers 2K+ HDR video and AI alerts

AI Video & Visuals

Arlo Europe has launched Arlo Pro 6, a new security camera that combines 2K+ HDR video with an Arlo Secure subscription that provides AI-based detection and alerts.

The company has positioned the camera as part of the Arlo Secure platform. According to Arlo, the system uses a secure early warning system for faster notifications and user actions through the Arlo app.

camera system

Arlo Pro 6 records in 2K+ HDR and uses a 12-bit color sensor. Arlo says the sensor sees more colors than the human eye. According to the company, this will improve the accuracy of details such as faces, vehicles, and clothing, including in dark scenes.

The camera includes color night vision and a 160 degree field of view. It also offers 12x zoom with automatic tracking to track movement in the scene. Arlo included a spotlight and siren on the device.

AI alert

Arlo said the camera works differently than other systems that only start recording when motion is detected. The company says the Pro 6 will work as part of Arlo Secure. Customers use the Arlo app to view and respond to events.

Arlo said customers with a Secure Plus subscription will have access to AI detection capabilities. The company says these detections include people, vehicles, animals, cargo, fire, and more. Arlo said the platform filters out unnecessary alerts.

The app allows users to trigger camera sirens and spotlights. Arlo says users can also have real-time conversations with visitors.

Installation and power supply

Arlo says the Pro 6 is targeted for easy installation and integration with other Arlo products. It uses USB-C charging, and Arlo says it has improved battery life. The company also offers an optional removable battery.

Arlo said customers can install cameras around their homes, including in their yards and driveways. The company explained that the product is designed for continuous use.

“With Pro 6, we are more secure than ever,” said Adrienne Sharkey-Perves, managing director of Arlo Europe. “The real breakthrough is the intelligence of our early warning system, which allows our customers to issue faster and more accurate alerts, allowing them to act before an incident escalates. Additionally, color accuracy adds another layer of criticality, which can mean the difference between identifying a suspect or missing a critical detail. Together, these provide a security solution that outperforms most of the products on the market today.”

prices and channels

Arlo has set the RRP for the single camera kit at £169.99 in the UK and €199.99 in Europe. Arlo announced that the camera will be sold through its online store, Amazon, and major retailers in Europe.

The company says some features require an Arlo Secure Plus subscription, sold separately.

Arlo is owned by Verisure, which calls it Europe’s number one security alarm provider. Arlo sells cameras and video doorbells and offers paid Arlo Secure plans for cloud-based services and notifications.

Arlo said the Pro 6 forms part of a broader product ecosystem that combines devices and cloud services through a secure early warning system.
