2-Day National Seminar on “Quantum Machine Learning for Cybersecurity: Opportunities and Challenges in NGP”

The Department of Computer Science with Cognitive Systems in the NGP College of Arts and Sciences recently held a two-day national seminar on “Quantum Machine Learning for Cyber ​​Security: Opportunities and Challenges.”

The seminar was organized by Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Delhi and was attended by around 298 representatives from various institutions.

The event began with an opening ceremony moderated by Mary Magdalene Jane, Dean of the Department of Computer Science, who congratulated the gathering and emphasized the importance of advancing research in quantum technology and cybersecurity.

The two-day seminar featured six technical sessions by prominent speakers from academia and industry.

Sreekanth, Associate Professor of Computer Science at Kannur University, Kerala, began the session with a thought-provoking talk on the opportunities and challenges of quantum machine learning in cybersecurity.

This was followed by Padmakumari, Associate Professor, SCORE, VIT University, Vellore, who spoke on the application of quantum machine learning in cybersecurity.

Jayakumar Vaithiyashankar, CEO and Founder of Anuthantra, Bangalore, shared his expertise on QML tools, future trends and ethical aspects.

Balasubramaniam, Assistant Professor of Digital Science, Innovation and Technology, University of Kerala, presented insights on QML algorithms, real-time applications, and cyber defense.

Mr. Thiyagarajan, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, elaborated on quantum cryptography technology, while Mr. Dinesh Palantagan, Director, Hackup Technology, Coimbatore, mentioned the role of quantum machine learning algorithms in threat detection.

The seminar concluded with a valedictorian's session by Mr. Kalimuthu, Director of University Research and Development. Certificates were distributed to all participants.
