Recently, Google Cloud revolutionized cybersecurity operations by introducing a new big language model called Sec-PaLM. Sec-PaLM is a generative AI model that powers the Google Cloud Security AI Workbench, announced at RSA Conference 2023 in San Francisco this week. The offering leverages the company’s years of superior visibility into the evolving threat landscape and is optimized for cybersecurity operations.

Security tools like Security AI Workbench and Mandiant Breach Analytics for Chronicle benefit from Google’s large-scale language model for information security, Sec-PaLM, and Google’s extensive security intelligence. Technological advances have expanded the use of large language models beyond the realm of simple language processing. Recently, there has been a boom in the use of large language models in the field of information security. Sec-PaLM is a large language model created by Google for security applications. Tune your Chronicle defenses with Security AI Workbench, VirusTotal Code Insight, and Mandiant Breach Analytics.

Google has released the Security AI Workbench platform. This includes Sec-PaLM. This security language model incorporates a wide range of security data, including Google’s threat landscape, Mandiant security flaws, malware, threat indicators, and attacker background details. Through an application programming interface (API), our partners and users can use Security AI Workbench to obtain valuable threat intelligence and other security capabilities.

Sec-PaLM has successfully countered hundreds of the most sophisticated cyberattacks and uses this knowledge to stop similar attacks elsewhere. Google claims the solution uses advanced incident analysis from the company’s “world-class threat intelligence” to prevent malware intrusion. Google Cloud Security AI Workbench provides your team with a variety of resources to help deal with the growing threat landscape. The first is VirusTotal Code Insight, which uses Sec-PaLM to deconstruct and reveal potentially harmful code and identity behavior.

Create risk assessments for privacy and regulatory compliance. Sec-PaLM is used by Google’s Security Command Center (SCC) to transform complex attack graphs into easy-to-understand descriptions of attacks. This includes details about assets at risk, potential mitigation steps, security and legal insights. Another useful tool is Security Command Center AI. It provides insight into individual app and system vulnerabilities by translating complex attack graphs into human-understandable descriptions. We rank the severity of these threats and suggest solutions for consumers to implement.

There are several uses for generative AI in security. Users can leverage Mandiant Breach Analytics for Chronicle to incorporate her Sec-PaLM to investigate potential security holes in their infrastructure and take corrective action in real time. Using the system’s extensive language model, Chronicle users can perform searches for security issues in their normal language, analyze search results, and quickly generate scans for her jobs without having to learn new syntax. . The artificial intelligence behind Mandiant threat mapping uses Sec-PaLM to rapidly query, summarize, and respond to alerts about potential security breaches. Sec-PaLM helps Google ensure that the open source software suites it provides through its Assured OSS services are secure and free of known vulnerabilities.

When it comes to information security, Google isn’t the only company adopting large-scale language models. For example, the Security Copilot, which operates the OpenAI GPT-4 model, was made available by Microsoft at the end of the month. Microsoft’s security intelligence database is integrated and available to information security professionals. Dive deeper into threat data and attack activity using natural language queries and analytics.

Google claims it meets compliance requirements while allowing users to access sensitive information on its platform. This allows you to train your system as you discover new risks and obstacles facing your security team. Additionally, Security AI Workbench features will be released in phases over the summer. A preview release of VirusTotal Code Insight is available now, and more features will be released in the coming months.
