Fintech platform and intermediary company Lendi Group has appointed a new chief technology officer as it continues its transition to an “AI native” operating model.
Lendi Group has announced that former Technical Director Devesh Maheshwari will be responsible for Lendi Group's technology strategy across the Aussie and Lendi brands, and will oversee the group's artificial intelligence (AI) platform, engineering, architecture and cybersecurity capabilities.
Maheshwari has experience as both a Chief Information Officer and a Chief Technology Officer, and has a background in executive leadership, technology strategy, and innovation.
He has overseen major cultural and technology transformations across highly regulated sectors and has a strong track record of leading teams that deliver measurable business outcomes. Most recently, he served as general manager of the technology division.
In his new role, he will lead the continued development of Lendi Group's end-to-end real estate and mortgage platform as the business expands.
By June 2026, Aussie & Rendy's parent company aims to extend AI to all areas of its business, enabling its more than 1,350 brokers across 220 stores to use AI in the mortgage process.
The goal is to bring agent AI to every decision made in the company with the support of an AI team.
“I am honored to take on the role of CTO at such a transformative time for Lendi Group,” said Maheshwari.
“Our vision to become AI-native by mid-2026 is not just about adopting new technologies, but fundamentally rethinking how we create value for brokers, partners, and customers.
“We're building an intelligent platform that anticipates needs, streamlines complexity, and empowers everyone involved in the real estate and mortgage journey. I'm excited to work with our talented team to bring this vision to life, while maintaining the security and reliability our customers rely on.”
Lendy also confirmed a major leadership change last month, with executive Sebastian Watkins being appointed CEO effective January 1, 2026. He succeeds David Hyman, who will remain as a director and special advisor to Lendi Group.
Incoming CEO Watkins said, “Devesh has deep technical knowledge and is a natural link between people, products and strategy. He is a champion of innovation for the group and I am proud to see his technical capabilities reflected in our executive leadership team.”
“Technology has always been at the core of our business, and now more than ever as we transition to an AI-native business. Devesh has played a pivotal role in that journey and will continue to have a significant influence both inside and outside of the business as we build the next generation platform for our brokers, partners and customers.”
Lendi Group has listed some of the new tools that will be introduced soon.
